What has shaped you?
Throughout the past 3 years of studying graphic design, I have been forced to think about why I do certain things and question myself. It brought a whole new level of functionality and sustainability to my lifestyle.
poster design
Challenge:
Illustrate a poster to promote an upcoming tour of a band of my choice
Solution:
I took a minimalist approach. Using small text and shapes creates interest and makes the viewer want to approach the poster.
thesis
Challenge:
Design an awareness campaign for the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
Solution:
Rather than showing the obvious visuals of people buying furniture or building houses, I used a simple visual and copy to explain how the furniture is linked to the overall operation of the organization.
corporate identity
Challenge:
Choose an existing logo / identity that was poorly designed and redesign it.
Solution:
I chose Pat & Mario's Restaurant. I wanted the overall feel of the logo to be warm, modern, and fresh.
stamp design
Challenge:
Design a postal stamp to promote the International Year of Forests 2011, along with a first day cover, cancelation mark and on- site design for an exhibition.
Solution:
I used positive and negative space to illustrate a hand or tree to symbolize the effect we have on the forests.
poster design

Solution:
I took an illustrative approach, using geometric shapes and colours to create an interesting composition. it symbolizes the unique styles and visions all of the artists bring to the event.
