What has shaped you?

The tool that we call the internet has had a great influence on our society, and has also captured my attention as a young mind. As such I can view an ocean of ideas in seconds, and therefore I am unable to express a central influence in my design. However I am always watching, waiting, and seeking for the next great idea.

poster design

The objective of this piece was to create a promotional poster for a choice of movie festivals. This particular piece was designed for the documentary film festival HotDocs. The main idea behind this piece is great historical figures, how they influenced change, and how that captivates documentaries

editorial cover

The objective of this piece was to select an invention, and create a masthead for a magazine using that word while conveying a relevant feeling. This magazine layout incorporates some of my photography, which is essentially a fan photographed with a thirty-second shutter speed.

stamp design

The objective of this piece was to create a commemorative stamp for the International Year of Chemistry. Out of the ideas proposed, the wonder and beauty of what an atom looks like was chosen. These are examples of the main stamp design, poster and package produced for the final project.

corporate identity

The objective of this project was to recreate a corporate identity for an existing business. I selected a local pizza joint, Cortina Pizza. Cortina pizza borrows its name from a large mountain range in Italy, and that is the idea behind the new logo. If you look carefully, you should see a pizza slice or a mountain. Other designs completed for the corporate manual include: apparel, uniforms, store and post signs, company stationery, and service vehicle details.

thesis

The objective of this project was to solve a problem with graphic design, any problem. The problem I selected was how advertising leads people to believe all germs are bad which creates unhealthy sterile environments. My proposal was to counter this. These pieces displayed are posters taken from my ad campaign. My ad campaign is based off the five second rule, and each ad has a different increment of time with a fact attached.
