If you could be any Pantone, which one would you be and why?

I would be Pantone Black C because black can be classy yet mysterious. Beautiful yet misunderstood. I respect black because it is rebellious, useful and strong; it dominates over other tints of paint. Used in the right amount, black in design is impressive and dignified. Black can be viewed as too serious and dreary, but it has helped me realize the world cannot exist without a balance of darkness and light. After all, you can’ t see the stars without shadows. I see myself in this Pantone colour because I often try to dress in just the right amount of black for a sharp, dapper look. Like the darkness, my self-concept is a battleground trying to embrace the balance of good and bad in myself.

The Twisted Doll

This local tattoo parlor’s logo did not meet criteria of effective corporate identity design. For example, the brand had many frilly details that hindered its memorability and its capacity to reproduce well on a small scale. The logo was modernized by making a Capital Baskerville “T” seem twisted like copper. The circle tied in an artistic touch, fit for a creative tattoo business.

Puerto Blanca

The goal was to design the new label of an exotic rum. A detailed hand drawn style in a sepia colour scheme was suitable for the bottle’s body, neck and cap. The mermaid illustration, typography of the name and all the details encasing the map in the front are hand drawn. The rest was crafted in Illustrator, following a sepia colour scheme to harmonize with the auburn fluid.

Florabotanica

This floral perfume had complex designs on its packaging that would be costly in colour inks. The new package retains more unity with the bottle due to clean lines, and a contemporary approach was taken to appeal to a trendy and modern target market of young women. The colour white was kept due to minimal printing costs and to communicate the fresh purity of a lotus.
